THAYER, Inc.

Thayer was founded in 1945 and incorporated in 1946 as Thayer Paper Company. In 1974, to reflect our growing product base, the name was changed to Thayer, Incorporated.

Thayer stocks thousands of maintenance and janitorial products and special orders thousands more to support the many customers who are served by Thayer. We are located in southwestern Michigan in the beautiful city of Benton Harbor.

Our president and CEO is Kay Varga Smith, who has seen to the everyday operations of Thayer since 1972. Kay is active in many community organizations that benefit South Western Michigan. Her motto is

"The betterment of our community intrinsically benefits our business."

Kay is seen living this motto as she volunteers time for the following community organizations:
